PRAYER ROOM
Prayer is central to life with Jesus because the spiritual life is not a solo endeavor, it’s a partnership with God or better yet, a relationship. We felt God inviting us to form a permanent space for prayer at the heart of our building. It is a space for us to learn to minister to him, know his presence and from that place seek his will for our lives, our church, our city and beyond.
It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer’
Luke 19:46

FAQs
-
To pray! There is no restriction or expectation as to how you should do this. You could pray in silence, with others, use music, art, poetry anything that helps you connect with Jesus.
-
Like any relationship prayer looks a little bit different for all of us. The main key is to be ourselves. Jesus is always with us by his Spirit we don’t have to reach him. As such prayer starts with the simple intention to connect with the living God. Many of us may wish to use the time to seek God for things that we need or want to see change. Often this is referred to as intercession. If we had one tip it would be that we begin our prayer by somehow recognising God’s presence with us. We would never enter a room and begin asking a friend for things before we’d said hi and connected the same is true with God.

The room is set up like a comfy lounge. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable in the space. There will also be some resources that you are welcome to use to inspire and equip your prayer. We also have a wireless speaker so if you would like to use some music you can do.

Of course there is a real power and encouragement from praying with others. If you are praying post 9pm we would strongly recommend that at least one other person joins you to ensure safety.

You can book the room for private use or label your booking as ‘others welcome’ so others can join you if you choose.
